Welcome to the 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment Red Warriors Vietnam Association Website
WELCOME. TO THE RED WARRIORS VIETNAM ASSOCIATION. We are a Section 501(c) tax exempt non-profit organization.
THE PURPOSE of this website is to preserve the five year history of the 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment (1/12thRed Warriors) 4thInfantry Division - Vietnam Era, and that of "Task Force Warrior’s" Vietnam service. (The Task Force was composed of members of the 1/12
Infantry - Red Warriors; B Battery, 4/42nd Artillery - Straight Arrows; and 1st Platoon, B Company, 4th Engineers. of the 4th Infantry Division)
Our key goals are to
develop comprehensive company manning rosters that are searchable,
accurate casualty reports, and a day-to-day history of Task Force
Warrior’s activities. You can help us achieve these goals by sharing
additional names or missing information. We hope that veterans’
recollections of activities on a given day or during a particular
operation will help fill in gaps in the War Diary.
We also invite veterans and their families to
use our website to reach out to each other. We have some contact
information for former members of the Task Force, but have not made it
public. If you would like to reach a specific man, please contact Wilfred Pla (240-506-6450), who maintains the Association Roster, and he will forward your message if possible.
We suggest that you begin
your journey through the website by starting in the "Roster" folder,
finding your own name and checking to see if everything we have listed for
you is correct. (Instructions on how to have problems fixed are at the
bottom of your page). After that you might want to look under the years
indicated in the “War Diary” folder for your tour of duty. If you find
that something is missing or is incorrect, please let Del Willenbecher, (215-628-9109) Battalion historian, know. For
those who are looking for information about the 253 men who made the ultimate
sacrifice, we have the Task Force losses broken down by company in the
“Casualty Bio's” folder.
Use the “Roster Search” engine to see if your buddies are included, and let us know of any updates
or corrections needed. We have added a "Deceased" (Advance Party) page to recognize those who, after the war, are no longer with us.
If you are looking for a fellow Red Warrior, we may be able to help. We maintain a roster of fellow Red Warrior that we have contact information on. It by no means comprehensive as over 5000 men served in the battalion from 1966 to 1970, For privacy we do not provide this information on this website. But if you contact us, we'll do a search. We have hundreds of names on our contact list. . Visit the "BUDDY SEARCH" page to enquire about a long lost buddy.
Our News Now page contains all the latest Red Warrior News including events and stories of interest, past and present. And
don't forget to check out the “PX” folder. New items will be
added periodically as they become available.
MILITARY TOPOGRAPHY MAPS
We have identified fire bases from 1966-70 and some battle locations on our map page. Every area that the Red Warriors were in are represented on the map page. Find out where you were!
If your tour was anytime during late 1968, 1969, or early 1970, visit the two 1969 battalion Yearbooks for that year, you may just see yourself.
After a five year absence due to Covid, Our last reunion occurred in May of 2023 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. future reunions may once again reappear every two years as they have in the past, but things at the moment are up in the air. You can view past reunion events from our Photo Archive pages.

There is a personal point of contact from your former company. Formed in early 2011, the Red Warrior Company Coordinators/Recruiters (RWCCR) purpose is not only to provide a point of contact, but to find other Red Warriors and to make them aware of our Association. The RWCCR is also here to support our brothers in time of need. Each company has a representative that you can contact. CLICK HERE for full details and Contact info.
RED WARRIORS VIETNAM ASSOCATION
We are a formal
association with a President, Treasurer, Secretary, Webmaster, and Company Coordinators. They are all volunteers.
Association meetings are held at each reunion. Every man who served
in our battalion task force in Vietnam has automatic lifetime Association
membership with no dues. We have only one bylaw, and that is to live as
long as possible and remember our buddy's. We also urge all Task Force members to join the 4th Infantry Division Association (see the “Links” folder).
PHOTO ARCHIVES - Many men have donated their collections. Sorted by Company. See if your friends have you in one of the shots. Over a million hits to our popular archives. CLICK HERE to see photos pages.
