Battalion 1969 Yearbooks - Coming when funds become available
In 1969 the battalion published two yearbooks. It was the only time that yearbooks were offered by the battalion. The early 1969 yearbook had a black cover, and featured Red Warriors who served late 1968 through mid 1969. The late 1969 year book had a blue cover and featured men who served 1969 through mid 1970. In some cases, some men appear in both issues.
The original year books were, however, not all inclusive as some
men were on R&R and others were on patrol on the day that the photographer came into the field. However, it is the best visual assembly of Red Warriors that we have for the period and is a historical look at the battalion during this time period.
The late 1969 hard cover book is complete, and the early 1969 year book is now being digitally restored. Both are and will be reproduced page by page, grammar and spelling corrected, and the pictures enhanced. The original books were of fair quality and we've made every attempt to make them better than the original. The 100 page book features pictures of every area of Red Warriors life, from the men at Base Camp in the Motor Pool, Mess Hall, and the Mail and Supply rooms to battalion HHC leadership. Finally each individual company, Alpha through Echo is featured. Many men of the era never received this book upon DEROS... so now's your chance to grab a bit of history! The
later 1969 hardcover yearbook will be published first, and in time for the September reunion, followed late this year by the early 1969 year book. Recall the names and faces of the1969 era. Plan to purchase yours now!
As of August 2010 the early 1969 year book is now under production and restoration.
Cost to be determined but we're aiming for under $50 for this 100 page book

PREVIEW: because of the large file sizes, we have broken the book into sections for you to
review. These are low resolution, secured and unprintable PDF Files. Because of their size, please be patient for the download.
Thanks to Jim Irving, C Co. 2nd platoon 1969/70 for donating his yearbook for the production of this new edition.
